My Final Post-Op Visit

Thanks to the amazing, talented and truly compassionate Dr. Jason Joel Emer for ridding me of all the pesky lipedema fat! I feel a hundred times better already and I’m still healing! Can’t wait for the next few weeks and months to see my body truly transform. I have knees again and they don’t rub together! Here is my final visit with Dr. Emer in my compression garments!

I am a 40 year old healthy woman with no co-morbiditys. However, I am considered overweight despite diet and exercise. I've always carried my weight exclusively in my hips, thighs and buttocks. Recently, it has spread into my upper arms, abdomen and some fat pockets developed on my shins. I have a significantly disproportionate shape. Tiny up top, huge on the bottom. I've been complaining for years of pain and fatigue but with no answers. Finally, on 12/29/14, I was diagnosed with lipedema, an underdiagnosed adipose tissue disorder. I have created this page to share my journey in hopes to spread awareness and hope for others who suffer from this condition.
