Oh the Places You Will Go

June 8 – From sunny Florida to beautiful (but not nearly as warm) Vermont.  Came up a day early to cross another state off my list.  I now have 1 more state to go and I will have visited all 50.  Which state?  Alaska!

I am a 40 year old healthy woman with no co-morbiditys. However, I am considered overweight despite diet and exercise. I've always carried my weight exclusively in my hips, thighs and buttocks. Recently, it has spread into my upper arms, abdomen and some fat pockets developed on my shins. I have a significantly disproportionate shape. Tiny up top, huge on the bottom. I've been complaining for years of pain and fatigue but with no answers. Finally, on 12/29/14, I was diagnosed with lipedema, an underdiagnosed adipose tissue disorder. I have created this page to share my journey in hopes to spread awareness and hope for others who suffer from this condition.
